Universes
The concept of a universe is central to Business Objects. A universe is a meaningful, user-orientated representation of a relational database. In practice, there are several universes, which have been designed by the Computing Services Department to provide particular views of the University's corporate database. New universes are created or existing universes are enhanced by the Computing Services Department as part of on-going development of the service.

Objects
Each universe is constructed with a set of objects. An object is an item of information that is of interest to a user of the information. It corresponds to a selection of data from the database and is, most usually, a column in a database table.

Classes
Within a universe, you will find objects grouped together into classes. When the Computing Services Department designs a universe, it groups objects into classes, solely, to reflect the user's natural grouping of items of information. In turn, some classes contain sub-classes. The purpose of classes and sub-classes is to make it easier for you to locate and select the objects you want when building a report. They play no other role in retrieving information.

2.Client
The Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) operates onshore and in shallow coastal waters of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, one of the seven members of the United Arab Emirates, which was established on 2nd December 1971.

The original concession agreement was made with Petroleum Development (Trucial Coast) Ltd. on 11th January 1939, but geological work did not begin until after the Second World War. Exploratory drilling began in Abu Dhabi in February 1950.

The first commercial oil discovery was made at Bab in 1960, and exports began from the Jebel Dhanna terminal on 14th December 1963. In 1962, the Company was renamed the Abu Dhabi Petroleum Company, ADPC. On 1st January 1973, the Government of Abu Dhabi acquired a 25% interest, which was increased to 60%, starting 1st January 1974. The Government interest is held by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC. ADCO was incorporated under Law No. 14 of 1978, on 8th October 1978 and has been responsible, since February 1979, for operations in the concession area, which after relinquishments, now covers more than 21,000 square kilometers.

The reports that ADCO needed were classified as:

Location wise report, This report is generated on the basis of location to analyze production per location.

Vehicle wise report, tThis report is generated on the basis of vehicles to analyze the usage of vehicle type.

Vehicles and Location wise report, This report is generated on the basis of vehicles and locations to analyze the work load and usage of vehicles per location.

Shift time and Location wise report, This report is generated on the basis of shift timings of employees and the location. This helps ADCO analyze employee efficiency per location.
